Fire Destroys Second City Offices in Chicago

Three people were injured, including two firefighters, and the Second City offices were destroyed in a fire in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood on August 26. Local media reported the fire may have started from grease in the Adobo Grill restaurant on the first floor of a building on North Wells Street. The Second City theater company had its offices on the second and third stories of the building.

Second City’s theater, training ground for such notables as John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd, Gilda Radner, Stephen Colbert and Tina Fey, was spared, the Chicago Fire Department said.
