Footage Shows Moment Deadly Shooting Begins at Dublin Boxing Weigh-In

Gunmen opened fire at a boxing match weigh-in at Dublin’s Regency Hotel on February 5, killing at least one man and wounding two others. A statement from An Garda Síochána, Ireland’s police force, said the victims were “all in their 20s or 30s”. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the two wounded men were hospitalized, police said. The weigh-in was for an MGM “Clash of the Clans” event.

The video shows the moment the shooting began.

Mick McCaffrey, news editor with UTV Ireland, reported that three gunman were involved, all of of whom were wearing “Emergency Response Unit uniforms with full combat helmets” and were armed with handguns, contrary to earlier reports that the men were brandishing AK-47s. He also said that a senior member of MGM promotions, Daniel Kinahan, is a senior Dublin gang figure, and that other members of Dublin gangs were in attendance. He reported that the man shot dead was a 35 years old, and was in charge of drug shipments for the Kinahan gang.
