Four Terminally Ill People Call on Next Government to Legalize Assisted-Dying

Four terminally ill people are calling on the next government to legalize assisted-dying in the United Kingdom. The campaign group Dignity in Dying released a poignant video sharing the stories of Roch, Gill, Margaret and Alan.

“The people in this film are dying, this election will be their last vote, they’re asking for a change in law that will give terminally ill, mentally competent people, the chance to die with dignity,” the campaign group said.

One study in 2011 found that approximately 10% of all suicides in England involve people with either a chronic or terminal illness, the group said. Credit: Dignity in Dying
