Four Who Thwarted Train Attack Awarded France's Top Honor

The three Americans and one Briton who thwarted an armed attack on a Paris-bound train last week were presented with France’s top honor by President Francois Hollande on Monday, August 24. US Airman Spencer Stone, National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler, and Chris Norman, a British businessman, received the Legion of Honor medal from Hollande at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

Praising the men’s courage, Hollande said they were a source of inspiration and that they had given a lesson “in courage, in will and, thus, in hope.” Credit: Dailymotion/Presidency of France
