#Freesavchenko Rally Held in Brussels

Dozens of people took to the streets of Brussels, on Thursday, February 12, under the hashtag #FreeSavchenko to protest against the detention of Nadia Savchenko, the former Ukrainian fighter pilot who is currently being held in a Russian prison accused of the murder of two journalists. Savchenko appeared in court in Moscow, on Tuesday, February 10, where her detention period was extended till May 13.

The Ukrainian, who is on hunger strike to protest against her detention, told the court, “I will continue the hunger strike, which has lasted for more than 60 days and will continue it until I’m taken back in Ukraine or until I die.” Credit: YouTube/Radio Svoboda Organization
