French Aircraft Carrier Charles De Gaulle Joins Coalition Operations Against Islamic State

French nuclear aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle arrived in the Persian Gulf on February 15, after being deployed by French President François Hollande to join coalition operations against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria in the wake of the Paris attacks. The ship was expected to join US Navy aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson in conducting airstrikes, according to reports.
