Gay Pride Day Celebrated in San Francisco

Gay Pride Day was celebrated across the United States on June 28, including in San Francisco. The parades and rallies were held two days after the US Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage. This video shows a portion of the parade on Market Street in San Francisco.

The pride parades and rallies marked the anniversary of the Stonewall Inn riots, which took place in 1969 in Greenwich Village. The riots are considered the start of the gay pride movement. Credit: Instagram/drqsn
