Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior Arrives in Vanuatu to Assist Rebuilding Effort

Greenpeace’s Rainbow Warrior arrived in Port Vila on Sunday evening, May 17, to deliver aid to assist with rebuilding after the category-5 Cyclone Pam devastated the island nation overnight on March 13 to 14. The ship was welcomed at the Port Vila main wharf on Monday morning with a traditional dance by Tanna chiefs and their people.

The ship carried two 10-tonne containers filled with supplies from relief agencies including tools, solar torches, clothing, kitchen utensils, stationery and books, according to The Jet Newspaper. Credit: Facebook/Mike Fincken
