How to Heat an English Castle Using Renewable Energy

The National Trust's Croft Castle in Herefordshire uses trees from the grounds is using wood fuel sourced directly from the estate to generate 100% of the heat needed for three houses, Home Farm and the castle, working with local people to keep it running. The more actively managed woodlands will also create better, bigger habitats and markedly improve nature conservation, while also protecting and supporting the woodland and working with local people to keep it running. The National Trust is now investing in a further 40 projects that will help it reach its goal of generating 50% of its energy from renewable sources by 2020.
