Heavy Turbulence Rocks Plane Off Okinawa, Alarming Passengers

Typhoon Chan-Hom edged towards Japan’s southern islands on Friday, July 10. Maximum winds reached 216km/h (about 135mph) with speeds of 162km/h near the storm’s center, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. This footage shows a plane near Naha, Okinawa, flying through rough turbulence possibly caused by Typhoon Chan-Hom. In the video, people can be heard in distress around the 0:25 mark as the plane is rocked by strong winds.
