Huckabee Backs Israel's Stance Over Jerusalem

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee made a brief visit to Jerusalem on August 18, where he publicly backed Israel’s stance over controlling land surrounding the city and not recognize Palestinian sovereignty there. “If you could stand where I am standing now, you would understand that giving up land, is essentially, not giving land for peace, it is giving up land and peace.”

The former Governor of Arkansas later sparked controversy at a press conference near the West Bank Jewish settlement of Shiloh, by declaring the West Bank to be part of Israel.

“If you’re going to visit Israel you should visit all of Israel, and that would include Judea and Samaria (the biblical name for the West Bank)”, Huckabee said. Credit: Twitter/Gov. Mike Huckabee
