Huge 2.6 Metre Boa Constrictor Found in Melbourne Shed

A local snake-catcher caught a 2.6 metre (8.5-foot) boa constrictor in a shed in the Melbourne suburb of Seaford on Monday, May 18. Local council workers cleaning up an abandoned property put in a call to Barry Goldsmith from Snake Catcher Victoria, who told The Age he “just picked her up, like I’d pick up a puppy dog”, despite the fact it weighed 8 kilograms (18 pounds).

The snake-catcher later transferred the snake to the Victorian Department of Environment and Primary Industries for euthanasia, as it is a high risk invasive species. Credit: Facebook/Snake Catcher Victoria Australia
