Hundreds March in Paris in Solidarity With City's Homeless Migrants

At least 1,800 people marched in northern Paris on June 16 in solidarity with hundreds of migrants whose makeshift camp in the same part of the city was recently cleared by authorities. Some 400 people, mostly from Somalia, Sudan and Eritrea, had placed tents and mattresses under an elevated metro track in the La Chapelle area. The march was organized by various left-wing groups, Le Monde said.

Le Monde said that some of those removed from the La Chapelle camp were in the care of the city council, but that more had relocated to other makeshift camps in the capital. Credit: YouTube/à vous de voir
