Hungarian Riot Police Face Off With Protesting Refugees at Border

Hungarian police fired tear gas and water cannon on Wednesday, September 16, to disperse hundreds of protesting refugees and migrants demanding they be allowed passage from the Serbian border town of Horgos into Hungary. Hundreds of frustrated asylum seekers have been stranded on the Hungarian border since Monday evening, when authorities completed a razor-wire security fence, blocking access into the country.
