Hungarian Troops Deployed to Erect Fence Along Serbian Border

New footage shot on Sunday, August 30, shows Hungarian troops continuing to construct a fence along Hungary’s 175 km border with Serbia to stem the flow of refugees into the European Union. On Saturday, the government announced that it had completed laying a razor-wire barrier the length of the border. Hungary’s government also plans to strengthen the 108 mile border with a four-metre-high fence but this will take weeks to complete.

The razor-wire barrier has drawn international condemnation while the Hungarian government also drew up a bill that will see severe punishments meted out for crossing the border illegally or damaging the fence.
