Islamic State Parade in Raqqa

Militants of the Islamic State (IS), formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS/ISIL), held a parade in the Syrian city of Raqqa on June 30. The parade, a show of strength in the city which is considered their centre of operations in northern Syria, came after the group declared a “caliphate” in the territories they hold in Syria and Iraq. These videos, from a prominent local activist, show the parade taking place.
