Kids March Across Selma's Edmund Pettus Bridge

Kids marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama on March 6 as part of a weekend celebrating the historic civil rights march to Montgomery 50 years ago. The weekend of events also includes a visit from President Barack Obama on Saturday, the anniversary of Bloody Sunday.

Bloody Sunday is when state police attacked those who were marching across the bridge en route to Montgomery in the movement to secure equal voting rights in the south. The incident was broadcast live by many news organizations across the world.
