Landslides Strike Quake-Hit City of Ranau

Villages surrounding the base of Malaysia’s Mount Kinabalu were hit by floods, mudslides and landslides on June 16. Heavy rainfall has hit the region of Sabah state – which was struck by a 6.0-magnitude earthquake 10 days earlier – since June 13, reported TODAY.

The online news agency, citing the Ranau district meteorological department, said the rocks and boulders were most likely quake debris that was later dislodged by the rain.
