LFC's Raheem Sterling Backs London Labour Candidate

England and Liverpool footballer Raheem Sterling has backed Labour’s Brent Central candidate Dawn Butler. Sterling said that the former MP had helped his family. “I’d just like to say a big thank you to Dawn for helping me and my family when we lived in Brent. She’s been a massive help to us when I was growing up and hopefully we can see her as MP again," the 20-year-old footballer said.

Butler, who served as an MP from 2005-2010, is running for the Brent Central seat in west London. The former minister for young citizens and youth engagement said: “Raheem’s a true inspiration for so many young people in our area, and represents the very best of Brent’s diverse community. His story is an amazing one – he could easily have gone down the wrong path and turned his back on football. But with hard work, passion and determination he’s risen to the top. He deserves every bit of his success.” Credit: YouTube/Dawn Butler
