Lib Dem Poet Candidate Uses 'Labour' and 'Hitler' in the Same Breath

Simon de Deney, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Hackney North and Stoke Newington in northeast London, has been using poetry to reach out to voters. In his latest video, de Daney says that “crippling rents” have forced long-term residents from the area. “Connie from No. 83 – Adolf only hit her fence post. It’s Labour which has made her flee,” he reads. Here de Deney is seen reciting the poem as he walks through a Hackney park.

De Deney described his previous video as the first “party poetical broadcast,” but since then he’s faced a challenge from the Green Party’s poet candidate, Theo Simon. Credit: YouTube/Simon de Deney
