Lightning Storm Hits Sydney

A ferocious storm ripped through Sydney on Wednesday evening, March 11, damaging structures, cutting powerlines, uprooting trees and interrupting train services, according to reports. Gusts of more than 80km/h were recorded and up to 29 millimetres of rain fell in just half an hour. This footage, shot from Sydney’s Parramatta River, shows dark clouds and lightning.
