Macy’s superstore in Houston, Texas was demolished shortly after dawn on September 22. Houston resident Chris Chow was able to capture the remarkable plume of dust and rubble from the planned implosion from a neighbouring building. The implosion was scheduled for 7:20 a.m and occurred without issue. The historic building had originally opened as a Foley’s in 1947 to a crowd of 200,000 people. Credit: Chris Chow.
