Man Forcibly Removed After Refusing to Leave Protest Campsite

One man refused to leave as the last tents from ‘Tim Mei’ village, the only remaining structures from Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protests last year, were removed from outside government headquarters on Wednesday, June 24. Representatives from the Lands Department read an ultimatum at the site on Tim Mei Avenue around 9.30 a.m., giving the occupiers an hour to clean up and get out.

The man argued with with the representatives in Mandarin and was eventually removed from the scene in a white van.

Only around 10 protesters remained, according to the SCMP.
