MEPs Halt Debate on EU-US Trade Deal

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) voted in Strasbourg on Wednesday, June 10, to suspend a debate on the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), a controversial proposed trade deal between Europe and the United States.

It had been planned on Wednesday to vote on endorsing the European Commission’s negotiating position in trade talks, including recommendations on data protection and public services. Credit: European Commission
