MEPS Offer Mixed Reactions to Greek Bailout Deal

Members of the European Parliament varied in their opinions of the new bailout deal for Greece, agreed on Monday, July 13 between the Greek government and Eurozone states.

While some conservatives, including Germany’s Werner Langen and Belgium’s Sander Loones, believe Greece had already received a good deal, and must fulfil the terms of the agreement, others believed the deal trampled democracy. Notably, Philippe Lamberts of the European Green Party said the deal was economically flawed and was an “ideologically-driven humiliation” for Greece. Credit: YouTube/European Parliament
