Miliband Ambush Video Appears to Contradict Claims of Assault

A video showing a crowd of protesters near Ed Miliband outside a March 26 Labour event in Rotherhithe, London, appears to contradict claims made on March 27 that Miliband was “punched and shoved” as he walked to his car.

Miliband was exiting a meeting with Southwark residents at Silverlock Hall when the incident occurred. He was on his way to partake in a televised leaders’ debate. The Mirror quoted a “Labour activist” as saying Miliband was punched in the chest, and that “he was shoved out of the way and couldn’t get in the car.” The Telegraph reported that Labour were “playing down the incident,” quoting party sources as saying Miliband was not punched, but that an “altercation had occurred.”
