Minneapolis Police Square Off With #Justice4jamar Protesters

Minneapolis police officers squared off with protesters at the Fourth Precinct on Wednesday, November 18. Demonstrators had camped out in front of the police building since Sunday, demanding the release of footage showing the police shooting of Jamar Clark. Protesters claimed police had used Mace on the crowd but MPD said its officers had been targeted with a chemical agent.

Police also said they had fire a paintball round to ‘mark’ one protester, who had thrown bricks at officers.

Jamar Clark was shot during a confrontation with police officers on Sunday morning and died of a gunshot wound to the head on Tuesday. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office said Clark’s death was a homicide. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension had identified two police officers involved – Mark Ringgenberg, 30, and Dustin Schwarze, 28 – on Wednesday.
