Minute's Silence Observed at Gendarmerie HQ Near Paris

A minute’s silence was held across France at midday local time on November 16, in the wake of the weekend attacks in Paris that left at least 132 people dead. President Francois Hollande led a ceremony at the Sorbonne university in Paris, while others gathered at the attack sites, at landmarks such as Notre Dame Cathedral and the Arc de Triomphe, and in towns and cities around the country.
