Missouri Students Rally After University President Resigns

University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe resigned on November 9 after student protests over inaction on racial problems at the university. Following Wolfe’s resignation, students gathered on the quad to demonstrate in favor of his decision. This video shows a portion of the protest.

A group of students calling themselves Concerned Student 1950 had set up tents and camped out, calling for Wolfe’s ouster. Jonathan Butler, a graduate student, started a hunger strike calling for the president’s removal. He tweeted after Wolfe’s resignation that he was ending the hunger strike. The school’s football team also declared it would not play until Wolfe resigned.
