Monica Lewinsky Advocates for Compassion on Social Media During TED Talk

Monica Lewinsky held a TED talk in Vancouver on March 19 where she advocated for a safer and more compassionate social media environment.

She touched upon cyber bullying and the personal impact that public humiliation can have on people as well as sharing her own story saying, “Anyone who is suffering from shame or public humiliation, needs to know one thing, you can survive it. I know it’s hard, it may not be painless, quick or easy, but you can insist on a different ending to your story.” As her talk ended, she was given a standing ovation by those in the convention center.
