Mosques Targeted in Sanaa Car Bombings

Three mosques and the Houthi headquarters were targeted in a series of four car bombings in Yemen’s embattled capital Sanaa on Wednesday, June 17, killing dozens of people. The attacks, which were later claimed by the Islamic State, came on the eve of Ramadan.

“Four car bombs targeted the political bureau of Ansarullah, the Hashush mosque in the Jiraf district, the Kibsi mosque in the Zira district and the Qubat al-Khadra mosque, causing the martyrdom and injury of dozens,” a security official told Reuters. Credit: Twitter/Yemen Post Newspaper
