MSF Releases Footage Showing Aftermath of Strikes on Kunduz Trauma Centre

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) president Dr Joanne Liu on October 7 reiterated her organization’s call for an independent inquiry into a deadly US airstrike on a trauma center in Kunduz, Afghanistan, on October 3. The airstrike left 22 people dead and was described by the top US commander in Afghanistan as a mistake. Liu called on members of the public to “stand with us,” and said the airstrike had left “tens of thousands” without access to care.

“The facts and circumstances of this attack must be investigated independently and impartially, particularly given the inconsistencies in the US and Afghan accounts of what happened over recent days,” Liu said, “We cannot rely on only internal military investigations by the US, NATO and Afghan forces.”
