Nearly One Million Affected by Myanmar Floods

Close to one million people were affected by flooding in Myanmar after a month of heavy monsoon rains compounded by Cyclone Koman, according to reports. At least 99 people are reported to have died. The United Nations pledged €8 million, while UNICEF has appealed for $9.2 million dollars in aid donations. EuroNews cited critics as saying most assistance was being provided by NGOs.

The footage here, shot on August 7 and provided by the NGO Myanmar Young Sikh Aid, shows the extent of the the flooding in Magwe Region.
