Netanyahu: Congress Address Not Intended to Disrespect Obama

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that his planned speech to Congress on March 3 was “not intended to show any disrespect” to US President Barack Obama. He was speaking during the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Policy Conference 2015 on March 2. Netanayhu accepted an invitation to address Congress from U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner, sparking a major diplomatic incident.

Netanyahu is expected to use the speech to address a potential deal with Iran over that country’s nuclear program, which he said could “threaten the survival of Israel.” Netanyahu’s full speech to AIPAC can be seen in this footage. His remarks regarding the address to Congress begin at 6:20. Credit: YouTube/IsraeliPM
