Netanyahu Declares Election Victory

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared victory in the general elections in the early hours of Wednesday. Netanyahu delivered a victory speech to Likud supporters despite earlier election polls putting the party in a dead heat with center-left rivals Zionist Union Alliance, led by Isaac Herzog.

The prime minister’s party made a late comeback, and with nearly all the votes counted, Likud party was expected to secure 30 seats in the Knesset while the Zionist Union would take 24, reported Haaretz. Herzog has yet to concede. This footage shows supporters chanting “hail, hail, Bibi” as Netanyahu took the stage to give his speech. Credit: Facebook/Benjamin Netanyahu – בנימין נתניהו
