Netanyahu Meets Orange CEO After Boycott Comments

The CEO of Orange telecoms group, Stephane Richard, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on June 12, after making remarks about boycotting the nation. Richard met with Netanyahu on Friday to clarify what he called a “misunderstanding” over his apparent suggestion that Orange would end a licensing deal with Israel operator Partner, following criticisms over its operations in Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories.

“We seek a genuine and secure peace with our Palestinian neighbors, but that can only be achieved through direct negotiations between the parties without preconditions. It will not be achieved through boycotts and through threats of boycotts,” Netanyahu said. Credit: YouTube/IsraeliPM
