Nick Clegg Says Transatlantic Trade Deal Offers No Danger of NHS Privatization

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said on March 14 that the TTIP trade deal, which proposes free trade between the European Union and the United States, would not lead to the privatization of Britain’s National Health Service (NHS).

“There is absolutely nothing in that agreement that could ever force a British government to outsource or privatize any of our NHS,” he said, during the Lib Dems’ spring conference. “And more than that, there is absolutely nothing in that agreement that could force this government or any future government to return any outsourced part of the NHS back into public ownership.” Credit: YouTube/Liberal Democrats
