North Charleston Mayor, Police Chief Speak at Press Conference

North Charleston Mayor R. Keith Summey and police chief Eddie Driggers spoke at the South Carolina city’s press conference following the release of a video that caught officer Michael Slager shooting Walter Scott in the back. Slager was charged with murder and fired from the force, though Summey said he would continue to be paid benefits, as his wife is eight months’ pregnant. “This has been a horrible tragedy in our community,” Summey said.
