Nothing Can Keep These People Away From Their Favourite Watering Hole

Human beings truly are creatures of habit: sometimes even forces of nature can’t keep us away from our Sunday rituals. For some in England, going to your local pub on a Sunday for a roast dinner and a pint of ale has been a long-held tradition. It’s even better if your local has an outdoor beer garden with a river view.

This was the case at the Kirkstall Bridge Inn in Leeds, although on Sunday, November 15, the “river view” had encroached on the beer garden, as heavy rain brought flooding to much of northern England.

That wasn’t enough to put these two off their Sunday ritual, braving the floodwaters to sit at their favorite bench (up to their waists) and enjoy a pint. Now videos and images of the pair are going viral online, with one image on Twitter on over 15,000 retweets. Credit: Instagram/simmonie_89
