Obama Praises General Dempsey at His Retirement Ceremony

US President Barack Obama paid tribute General Martin E. Dempsey at a retirement ceremony for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. President Obama said Dempsey “helped lead the greatest fighting force the world has ever known” at the ceremony in Fort Myer, Virginia, on September 25. Obama said he chose Dempsey as the army chief because of his “deep commitment to American strength and values” and that he is “a leader you can trust”.
