Oceanic Society Staff Nurse Turtle Back to Health

Staff from California’s Oceanic Society nursed this injured Hawksbill turtle back to health in their field station in Belize after it was brought to them by a local resident. The turtle, which is on the critically endangered list, was suffering from an injured rear flipper which left it too weak to move. The staff fed it fish and brought it out for supervised swimming sessions each morning, and now it’s almost healthy enough to release.
