Over 3,000 Migrants Left Stranded at Budapest's Keleti Train Station

By September 3, 3,000 people were waiting at Budapest’s Keleti train station, according to the UNHCR. The station, which had been closed and guarded by police for two days, reopened on that day, but, according to Hungary’s national rail provider, trains would not be travelling to locations in Western Europe.

Reports from the station said that trains which did leave the station were bound for a “transit camp” and that refugees were not being told their destination. Credit: YouTube/United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
