Pegida Protesters Met by Thousands of Counter-Demonstrators in Malmo

Thousands of counter-protesters descended upon Malmö on Monday, February 9, to demonstrate against the first anti-Islam rally held by far-right group Pegida on Swedish soil. According to reports, less than 10 Pegida protesters were met by nearly 5,000 counter-demonstrators. The small Pegida protest, which was cordoned off by Malmö police inside a ring of riot fences, quickly found itself surrounded by thousands of #NoPegida demonstrators. Credit: Instagram/evietiger
