Police and Protesters Clash in Toulouse

Protesters demonstrating against the building of a controversial dam in southwestern France clashed with police in Toulouse on Saturday, February 21. More than 400 demonstrators gathered in Toulouse, and another 800 in Nantes, Le Monde reported.

Those opposed to the Sivens dam project say it will have a negative impact on the region’s ecosystem.
