Police Respond to Sao Paulo Protesters

Police used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse protesters in Sao Paulo on June 9, close to the Ana Rosa metro station where police and striking metro workers clashed on June 6. Activists gathered early in the morning and set a barricade alight before marching down Rua Vergueiro outside the station. The Sao Paulo transport strike has entered its fifth day, just three days ahead of the first World Cup match there on June 12. Credit: Facebook/Juntos, Maia Fortes
