Protesters Gather for Anti-Corruption March in Pretoria

Thousands attended anti-corruption marches in South Africa on Wednesday, September 30, braving the rain in Cape Town and hot weather in Pretoria, according to reports. The protests were organized by Unite Against Corruption, who say corruption cost South Africa 700 billion rand (about $51 billion) in the last 20 years, citing a 2015 report from the Institute for Accountability.
