A quiet night in Gaza amid talk of a ceasefire

It has been a relatively quiet night in Gaza. Especially in comparison with yesterday. Explosions rang out as Israeli missiles targeted a tower block housing international media organisations. At least two people died and six were injured. The Hamas-run Health Ministry says 101 Palestinians have been killed during the six days of Israeli bombardment, including 24 children. Three Israeli citizens died last Thursday in a rocket attack. Israeli tanks are gathering on the Gaza border, although officials in Tel Aviv are insisting they would prefer a diplomatic solution to a ground invasion. And the Israeli people seem to think the same. Research suggests that while 84 percent support the current assault on Gaza, only 30 percent want an invasion.
