IS Roll Through Pumping Station en Route to Palmyra

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Thursday, May 21, that the ancient city of Palmyra in central Syria fell into the hands of Islamic State (IS) the previous day. According to Al Jazeera, residents inside the city confirmed that the entire city had been seized causing many to flee. Palmyra is a UNESCO World Heritage site dating back to the 1st and 2nd century.
