Russians Write 'For Paris' on Bombs Used in Syria Strikes

The Russian defense ministry released footage on Friday, November 20, showing members of its Air Force writing “For our [people]” and “For Paris” on bombs it said were destined for strikes on Islamic State targets in Syria. The bombs were mounted on fighter jets at Hemeimeem airbase in Syria.

Reuters reported on November 17 that Russia had stepped up airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria with long-range bombers and cruise missiles after IS claimed responsibility for both the downing of a Russian passenger plane in Sinai and the deadly Paris attacks.
