Sanders Secures Nurses' Union Endorsement

Bernie Sanders secured the endorsement of National Nurses United (NNU) on Monday, August 10. With 185,000 members, the union is the largest group of nurses in the United States.

“Bernie Sanders has a proven track record of uncompromised activism and advocacy for working people, and a message that resonates with nurses, and, as we have all seen, tens of thousands of people across the country. He can talk about our issues as well as we can talk about our issues. We are proud to stand with him in his candidacy for President today,” NNU Executive Director RoseAnn DeMoro said.

Sanders accepted the endorsement at a rally in Oakland, California on Monday. Speaking at the rally, Sanders said, “There is no job in this country that is more demanding, more important, and more fulfilling than being a nurse.” Credit: National Nurses United
